Our Vision
The Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians envisions a world where African women's voices shape theological discourse, leading to communities free from oppression and injustice, and promoting equality. We strive to create a platform where African women can share their experiences, insights, and wisdom, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society. Our vision is to see African women theologians recognized and respected for their contributions to theology and social justice, and to inspire future generations to continue this important work.
Our Mission
We empower African women through theological research, publication, and action, fostering social justice and equity in communities and amplifying their unique perspectives and contributions. Our mission is to provide resources, support, and opportunities for African women theologians to engage in meaningful research and dialogue. We aim to challenge and transform oppressive structures and practices within religious and societal contexts, advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals. By promoting the voices of African women, we seek to influence theological education, policy, and practice on a global scale.
Our Core Values
We are committed to academic collaboration, research and publishing, mentoring and training, and fostering a global network for African women scholars and activists to promote gender justice. Our core values include integrity, inclusivity, and respect for diversity. We believe in the power of collective action and the importance of creating spaces where African women can thrive and lead. We are dedicated to building partnerships and alliances that support our mission and vision, and to continuously learning and growing as an organization. Our work is grounded in the belief that every voice matters and that together, we can create a more just and equitable world.
